Remote Start-up Pitching Event
On 6th December, SESA joined the start-up pitching event organized by China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), and presented two start-up projects remotely from Germany via internet.
The main venue of the pitching event was in Suzhou, China. To expand network and to gather more resources for its members, SESA is trying to forge collaboration with CAST. This time, two innovative start-up projects from SESA members were introduced at the pitching, and they gained interests from the attendees - including the local government and investors.
Suzhou is one of the most innovative cities in China and the government encourages entrepreneurship. The CAST in Suzhou helps high-technological start-up projects to be hatched locally and it provides supports and consultation. It focuses on attracting promising projects and elites to the city with great potential.
The projects pitched this time were specialized in bio-pharma and the project leaders are from Heidelberg University Hospital and German Cancer Research Center, respectively. Heidelberg is one of the most active cities in bioscience research, with renowned institutes such as National Center for Tumor Diseases, European Molecular Biology Laboratory, and those two organizations mentioned previously. With its local network in Heidelberg, SESA is looking forward to further collaborations with the technology parks in China for scientific communication and to helping start-up projects in realizing transformation of their scientific and technological achievements.
